Macro
Definition "extremely close-up photography in which the image on the film is as large as, or larger than, the object"
Macro research
I came across Alessandro Zocchi who is a famous photographer who's has taken some macro photographs. His macro photographs which I found where mainly of plants. I really like macro photography because I like the way there is a main focus to them and then a faded part. I feel this effect gives a photo a main subject to focus on. I particularly like some of Alessandro's photos because they are bold and vibrant. Here is some examples of his photos...
Evidence of using Macro
This photograph is my favourite from the ones I have taken. I like how the skulls nose is much darker compared to the rest of the image as it gives the photo a main subject to focus on when you look at it. I think I have used macro photography successfully here because the front of the skull has been captured extremely close up and the rest of the image nicely fades into the background.
I think I have also successfully used macro photography here because the tea pot and hand have been clearly captured close up in the foreground of the image and the rest is a blur. I think this is effective as by being taken so close up it has created a shinny texture the tea pot's lid making it more eye catching. In addition to this by the skull being less dominant in the image it has created a misty texture.
